Conflicts and disasters around the world have turned millions of people into refugees. Despite the distances between the Emirates and the hotbeds of crises and refugees, the Emirati march of giving and support has crossed distances and has always been with them. The UAE celebrates with the world the International Refugee Day, June 20, which falls this year and has exceeded Their number is 80 million, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The UAE’s efforts in this field varied, and included support and backing initiatives and the awarding of prizes to motivate others to provide support.
The UAE has also taken upon itself to contribute to alleviating the humanitarian situation around the world, especially the humanitarian conditions resulting from crises and disasters, whether through direct response or through partnership with various international and international institutions and organizations.
The occasion comes this year at a time when the world is facing the crisis of the spread of the emerging coronavirus “Covid 19”, which has exacerbated the suffering of refugees through the challenges and difficulties that have emerged in the face of efforts to provide basic services and deliver humanitarian aid.
The representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan, Dominic Bartsch, sent a message to the UAE, in which he valued the efforts made by the UAE Red Crescent in supporting Syrian refugees, saying: “I had the opportunity before visiting the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees, Marajeeb Al Fhood, I was impressed by the high level of services they provided to Syrian refugees. We are grateful to the Emirates and the Emirates Red Crescent. The UAE is a vital and essential partner for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
