Yesterday, Wednesday, the Health Education Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah organized the “Health Supporting Societies Volunteers Forum” to honor the volunteers of the department and its affiliated health supporting societies, coinciding with International Volunteer Day, to highlight the importance of volunteer work and its positive impact on the individual and society.
The forum was attended by Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, President of the Family Affairs Authority and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Education Department, Engineer Khawla Abdul Aziz Al Noman, President of the Friends of Breastfeeding Association, and Mona Al Hawai, President of the Friends of Kidney Patients Association. In addition to a number of boards of directors of health-supporting associations, Dr. Taghrid Zuhdi Mohamed, founder and president of the OFUQ ALSALAM ALDUWALI (OSD) Center, and media representatives.
In an intervention by Dr. Taghrid, she said that volunteering is a noble message in the state of volunteering and giving because we are following in the footsteps of Zayed Al-Khair, who established in our souls the love of volunteering and giving, and this has continued to this day thanks to our wise leadership that sponsors and encourages volunteering and doing good.
At the end of the celebration, she was honored by the Health Education Department in appreciation of her efforts in volunteer work and the work she provided to serve many community members over the years.
Her Excellency Dr. Taghrid also met with a group of volunteers from across the United Arab Emirates at the Sharjah Volunteer Center to participate in the Volunteering Forum, which was entitled Volunteer Work and Making an Impact.
